Gladys
M. Dare:
Gladys M. Dare (Patriquin), 76, of
Vineland, passed away suddenly early Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at the South
Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Vineland, where she had been
admitted early in the evening after her bus run.
Mrs. Dare was born in Niles, Ohio, raised in DuBois, Pa. and had resided in
Vineland for more than 50 years. She was the daughter of the late Mildred (Stadagtmiller)
and Claude E. Patriquin, and the wife of the late Ray D. Dare Sr., who died in
1998. Gladys was employed by the Vineland Board of Education Department of
Transportation as a school bus driver for more than 40 years. When Gladys first
came to Vineland she was employed by the Owens-Illinois Co. in Bridgeton as a
glassworker. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Vineland and in
early years enjoyed bowling.
Gladys is survived by two sons, Joseph D. Dare Sr. of Buena Vista Township and
Ray D. Dare Jr. of Quinton Township; five grandchildren, Valerie Behrans, Joseph
Jr., Christopher, Duane and Kirsti Dare; four great-grandchildren; two sisters,
Pat McKracken and Maxine Richards, both of Arizona; as well as her close
neighbor who looked out for Gladys, Joe Rodriquez.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Pancoast Funeral
Home, 676 S. Main Road, Vineland, where relatives and friends will be received
from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the Siloam Cemetery in Vineland.
