2012 DFA Reunion Notes:

1.  Dave used a video projector and wireless internet to show the Dare Family Association Website to those who had not seen it.

2. The Facebook Dare Family Group of Dares from around the world is over 150 people now.  There are over 60 in the Dare Family Researchers Group on Facebook.  It has been a lot of fun!

3. Over 3000 emails to Dave were received from Dares this year regarding family tree research including a cousin in Southern England descended from our Captain William Dare of Dorset who immigrated to Southern NJ in 1680.  Her family emigrated to the Carribean during the depression in the US, and then on to England.

4. The Dare Family graveyard in Bridgeton is currently privately owned and is in someone's back yard.  We would like to get the site recognized and marked in some way.

5. Dave tried to upload our database to Ancestry, but it was too large, so we are using Legacy for the database instead.  It uploads to our web pages which we can edit and control.

6. Thora Wright - a long time member and officer passed away this year.

7. Two Dare gravestones in Millville's Mt. Pleasant cemetery were knocked over.  We have a quote of $50 each to right and secure them.  Motion was approved to fund it.

8. Motion was made and approved to set aside $300 for gravestone maintenance for Dares in the area.

9. We are anxiously waiting for a Dare in Tasmania, Australia to send in their DNA test.
